Benefits & Support for Facilitators
Monthly Stipend: Receive a 4000 peso per month stipend for four months – the contract is 16 weeks which works out to 500 PESOS per hour!
Equipment Provided: GSP supplies all necessary equipment for the program, which may include a 3D printer, filament, robotics parts, and more
Structured Curriculum: The program is made possible using a proven effective, and unique online Canvas course
Direct Support: GSP commits to answering all questions posed to the Help Wiki within 24 hours (with questions asked on a Friday being answered the following Monday)
Feedback & Encouragement: GSP provides feedback, suggestions, and encouragement for all assignments submitted by students
Student Opportunity: The program offers at least one 2500 peso per month scholarship opportunity to a successful student to study a STEM field in college.
Facilitator Responsibilities
Primary Role: Ensure a quality learning experience giving students the opportunity to explore hands-on STEM projects
Location: Facilitate the weekly 2-hour session in the school computer lab for 16 consecutive weeks
Qualification: Become a “qualified” teacher by completing a 1 hour online training that covers the Canvas course content and navigation
Progress Monitoring: Ensure students are making sufficient progress by completing the lessons in order and in a timely fashion.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate attendance records.
Communication: Keep GSP apprised of any issues and communicate successes through photos and testimonials on a regular basis.
